The Most Effective Hangover Cures

Eat a packet of crisps before you go to sleep. Get on the Drinks again the next day. Absorb the alcohol up with a big old fashioned fry up that include Sausages and Bacon. When it comes down to it though, everyone has their own method for curing it.

Here are my most effective ones I'm going to list below, and the least effective so called 'myths' that you should totally and utterly avoid at all costs.

Truths!

  • Start eating before you get yourself on the session, having food in your belly - especially carbohydrates and starchy stuff like Rice and Pasta slow down the absorption time of alcohol into the bloodstream.

  • Try and avoid mixing your drinks, such as vodka, JD etc. Because really it will only make you end up drinking more.
  • Follow  up every glass of alcohol you have with an average sized glass of water to keep healthy and hydrated. Also try have a glass before you fall asleep as it can seriously work wonders.

Myths you should avoid!

  • Eating foods that contain alot of saturated fats/fat. Because alcohol causes blood sugar levels to decrease which actually plays a prank on your body into believing that it needs more calories in its system. We all crave the fattening foods as they are purely the most heavy type of energy but in truth though, we don't feel any better after consumption.
  • Having a glass of water the day after your drinking session. This actually won't help get rid of the alcohol, ofcourse yes, you can say it will help to a certain extent but it's certainly more vital you drink the water whilst drinking on the same day/night.
  • Deciding to eat before bedtime does NOT shrink the alcohol in your stomach, the only way this method could ever be acceptable is if  the food's already in your belly.

So there you have it, just a few of the tips i've came across that have happened to be proven by professional doctors. I hope you all had a very happy christmas and a new year and if you're like me, you'll be onto the New Years resolutions to get off the drink and to the gym!

We'll see how that gets on... Ha!
